We were fortunate to find a local dive shop on Roanoke Island which is actually still open and has air and other amenities available. One of the things we found there was this awesome book on the German U-Boat U-85 which sunk off the coast of North Carolina in a battle during the early days of WWII. Thanks to my sweetie for buying the book for me. The U-85 has been on my bucket list as a dive for years, and one of the things we learned is that in season, you can get a charter operator to take you out to dive the U-85 pretty much every week. Now we just have to get back in season!
I’m quite dissapointed that we aren’t going to be going back to Sombrero this year after all, so I’m just going to have to satisfy myself with editing more images from the last outing. Here’s a couple new ones:
One of the groups I belong to is an online paddling group called the Cincy Paddlers. The group is made up of around 2500 members, and does weekly paddle outings on the Great Miami River as well as a host of trips and outings to other places.
One of the events they hold is a bi-weekly pool practice where members can come and practice rolls, rescue maneuvers and other fun stuff. My kayak isn’t properly equipped to be doing rolls and such, so the practice wasn’t really for me. I am however, always looking for reasons to get out the dive gear and camera equipment, so I decided to join the practice last week to get some images of the fun!
I finally got a chance to get the color correction done and the images posted. They’re also on the Weigold Photography site. Enjoy!
