Exploring the Indiana and Ohio

Out in western Butler County where I like to ride the wing there are several large railroad trestles that carry lines that I believe used to serve Fernald among other locations. In exploring satellite images of the line I discovered that it terminates at one end around Paddy’s Run near the Great Miami River, and appears to have gone over the bridge that used to cross near the park where the Cincy Paddlers trips take out.

Following the lines the other way, I can see that they make their way all the way up to Richmond, IN. Much to my surprise, I discovered that they cross what I think is a CSX main with a diamond not far from Richmond. Seeing as I’d never seen a diamond in person, I decided to go exploring. It was a fun trip! I hope to get back up there one day when the I&O is operating and maybe chase them and get some more images.
