Edgewood Men’s Soccer vs Norwood – October 12, 2011

It was senior night and the last regular game of the season for the Edgewood Men’s Varsity Soccer team. Mackenzie’s sweetie Nate is one of the team captains, and we were invited to watch and get some action shots

Unfortunately they lost to Norwood, but it was a great game. I picked out some favorites from the images, and you can check those out below. You can also find the full set (some 500+) images online at weigoldphotography.com.

Christman Bridge

I’m having such fun going through images I haven’t really had time to sort and picking a few to share. Here’s yet another. The Christmas Bridge, built in 1895, is located in Preble County, Ohio. This image is from October 2008. Taken while on a break on a motorcycle ride.

Seven Mile Bridge

As I was going through more of my images from the Florida trip with the boat a few years back, I came across another to play with. This is the sunset over the Seven Mile Bridge, viewed from the boat. Color corrected. No other adjustments.

GC29ZHW For the Love of a Pond

So despite the effort put into finding the BCTC Port Union cache only to find that it was probably washed away, I decided to find at least one more for the day. After all, I had a travel bug (The Circle Puzzle) I needed to get rid of, considering I’d had the bug for WAY too long!

After a looking through a couple more listings, I found one on the way home that seemed promising: GC29ZHW For the Love of a Pond

Amusingly, I thought this was going to be a retention pond that was part of someone’s landscape in a nice neighborhood based on it’s map location. Bzzzzzz. Wrong. Turns out the retention pond in question was one behind a small strip shopping center and it happened to be dry at that. So much for scenic. Behind the pond was a narrow strip of woods. GPS lead me right too it. Oh well, can’t complain about the easy ones

GCQYXF BCTC Port Union

I can’t believe it’s really been almost two years since I went geocaching. I came to that depressing conclusion today as I finally took the time to use the geocaching app on my android phone. After finishing up at a client’s facility today and enjoying a few minutes ride it occurred to me that I should pull over and see what caches might be in the area.

After a few minutes of looking through the list, I found the BCTC Port Union cache and thought it would be a good one, like many of their others I’d done. So, plan established, I headed toward the area of the now long gone Port Union Cafe. Turns out, this is now the Trinity Pub. Looked like a nice place. I didn’t visit.

After a short walk up the trail I found the spot after crossing a creek bridge. On the bridge, looking south, you can see evidence of a large “water related” concrete structure. Considering this trail is built on the towpath for the Miami – Erie canal, I can’t help but wonder if the structures I could see were the remains of a lock. Might have to do some research.

Unfortunately for me, I couldn’t find the cache. I suspect it is gone. There was obvious evidence of 2-3 ft deep flooding in the area of the cache, and I even found a mass of camo tape that probably was around the cache container based on the previous logs for the cache.

Oh well. It was a nice walk down the trail anyway! Here’s a couple pictures:

MVC – Trenton Rd – October 5, 2009

Units from St. Clair Twp. Fire Department and St. Clair Twp. – New Miami Life Squad responded to a report of a minor injury accident on Trenton Rd near Busenbark Rd. No patients were transported.

MVC – Car vs Train – SR127 near Fear Not Mills

What were you doing last night?

Units from St. Clair Township Fire Department and St. Clair Township-New Miami Life Squad responded to a report of an motor vehicle crash, car vs. train near SR127 and Fear Not Mills. The train Engineer reported the car was occupied. Careflight was placed on standby considering the nature of the dispatch but was later cancelled. First arriving units discovered that the driver had left the scene. He was later found with superficial injuries.
