I think Mother Nature is confused…

I noticed these a couple of days ago. We certainly get them every year, but not this early in the season. When the flowers bloom, they look like the blossoms from a Lilly of the Valley, but I don’t think that’s what these are. They blossom with 1 flower per stem and last about a week or so. I’m curious, so if you have a theory on them, I’d like to know what they are. So far I haven’t found them in any of the wild flower references.

Edgewood Men’s Soccer vs Norwood – October 12, 2011

It was senior night and the last regular game of the season for the Edgewood Men’s Varsity Soccer team. Mackenzie’s sweetie Nate is one of the team captains, and we were invited to watch and get some action shots

Edgewood Girls JV Soccer vs Hamilton

Christman Bridge

I’m having such fun going through images I haven’t really had time to sort and picking a few to share. Here’s yet another. The Christmas Bridge, built in 1895, is located in Preble County, Ohio. This image is from October 2008. Taken while on a break on a motorcycle ride.

Seven Mile Bridge

As I was going through more of my images from the Florida trip with the boat a few years back, I came across another to play with. This is the sunset over the Seven Mile Bridge, viewed from the boat. Color corrected. No other adjustments.

Sombrero Light

This image was taken from my boat from a trip to Florida a few years back. This is the lighthouse on Sombrero Key located about 5 miles offshore from Vaca Key, the location of Marathon, FL. Sombrero Key may actually have visible sand at extremely low tide, but for the most part, is really a shoal. Among other features, Sombrero includes an array of “finger” formations of coral radiating away, mostly toward the seeward side. Check out my posts in the scuba diving category for some underwater images from this beautiful site. This image caught my eye as I was scanning through the collection. I’ve color corrected and boosted saturation slightly.

Kid’s Digital Photography Class!

The popular Kid’s Digital Photography Class is back for another session at the Middletown Art Center. The course is open to kids in grades 3-6 and their parents. It runs on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. There are two upcoming sessions: The first session runs 11/18, 12/2. 12/9 and 12/16. The second session runs 1/6, 1/13, 1/20 and 1/27.
